  2. Update from program committee:
    • Since the members were present during the pc meeting, no further discussions were held on this.
    • Scott informed that the local organizing committee is yet to identify the opening plenary speakers.

  3. Registration
    • Scott informed the members that the registration for the 21st APAN meeting would be open from November 1, 2005.
    • APAN Secretariat will link the registration page on the APAN Website to the registration system https://www.crs-pac.net/registrye/registrye.asp?id=0124 so that it is accessible for everyone on November 1, 2005

  4. Fellowship
    • The local organizing committee proposed two budget plans to support fellows attending the next APAN meeting in Tokyo. Plan A and B. Under plan A, they expect to support upto 30 fellows with allowance. However, under plan B, they could support a few more fellows but without allowance. The difference between the two budgets is the allowance to be provided to the fellows.
    • Jennifer said usually they try not to ask the fellows to bear any expenses on their own. Therefore, she felt its better if the fellows were provided allowance. Hence, after discussions, plan A was accepted.
    • Upon Konish-san's enquiry on the fellowship program budget, Scott informed that they expect the regular fellowship support from APAN and the balance amount carried from the previous APAN meeting in Taipei.
    • Konishi -san informed that he has secured some funding which if necessary could be provided to the fellowship committee to support the fellows.
    • The fellowship committee would calculate the estimated costs and inform Konishi-san if his offered fund is needed.
    • The local organizing committee expressed their concern on the visa procedure that might take long and so the need to move up the deadline for the application submission and the announcement of awards were discussed. The deadline for application submission was fixed to November 14, 2005 and the date for award of announcement to November 30, 2005.
    • APAN Secretariat will put up the fellowship announcement on the Web and send it to members after receiving the confirmation from the fellowship chair.

  5. Sponsorship
    • Scott confirmed the six sponsors and informed that they expect around five or more companies to sponsor the event.
    • APAN Secretariat to put up the logos of the sponsoring companies on the website after these were received from the local organizing committee.
