Chair A Konagaya, Martti Tammi
Objective Second Preparatory Workshop of the Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet). APBioNet, Project 101 of Asia Pacific Advanced Network, is organising a preparatory workshop in May 2006 to discuss the formation of APBioNet Nodes in the region and to explain to prospective candidates the various aspects of being a National or Institutional Node. Part of the implementation includes deploying the complete bioinformatics databases of APBioNet-APAN BioMirrors project and an APBioGrid for bioinformatics computation using KnoppixCluster and BioKnoppix, OpenSolaris LiveCD and UD-MPGrid. Bioinformatics resource providers and institutional network managers in ASEAN countries who are participating in the ASEAN Science and Technology Research Network Alliance (ASTRENA) will find this workshop useful.
