1. Roll Call
- Attendant: Joo, Goto, Lawrence, Kitamura, Wanchai, George, Francis, Mizushima, Matsukata, Jon Lau, Vimolrat, Napis, Sherrie, Pujan
2. Review of Last Meeting Minutes and follow up
3. Schedule Modifications
- APAN101 moves to meeting thread
- HDTV moves to 19th July
- e-Science needs 3 slots therefore moves to 18th July
- APBioNet moves to 5th and last session on 18th July
- Francis will provide 10th Anniversary proposal to the APAN-SEC
- Pujan will write email to Internet-2 and ask for short description
- Local organizer has to wait another month for final session packing
4. Review of Proposals
- Received proposals are now online with details (linked at Schedule webpage)
- Jun Matsukata has informed about a proposal namely “Panel discussion: Collaboration between the network technology fields and the application fields”. He shall provide more details late on.
- Number of participants is approximately 40-50 and more in case of e-Science. Napis proposed number of seats in room should be dynamically allocated to avoid any problem.
- One dedicated room for each track should be allocated but later it is agreed that it could be negotiate between Local Organizer and APAN-SEC because some session requires less number of participants.
- Pujan should write email to session coordinator who did not send number of expected participants.
- One large room is required for Network research Workshop.
5. VTC
- All rooms should be VTC equipped.
6. Keynote Speakers
- There should be more number of keynote speakers. Prof Goto informed that traditionally there were two keynote speakers one who was internationally recognized and another who was locally. In this case Dr Jun Murai can be belonged to any of these.
- Some sort of greetings can also be another option in opening plenary, as last meeting in Tokyo.
- Now PC wouldn’t discuss keynote speaker anymore and this issue is passed to Local organizer
7. Update from Local Organizing Committee (OC)
- OC is looking for location of banquet
- OC is working hard to get more sponsorship
- Entertainment would depend on sponsorship.
- Prof Lawrence has told that there would be diversity of food.
8. Next PC Meeting
- Next PC meeting is scheduled on 28 April 2006 from 9:00 AM (GMT+7)
9. Others (Network Research Workshop)
- Need to ask for paper submission from Asian Countries viz. Japan, Korea and specially China. They might be students, Professors and researchers.
- Prof Goto suggested, encouraging young researcher to participate in APAN activities. Therefore it is required to ask to universities in this regard.
