 APAN Digital Library BoF Meeting Minutes

- The BoF was attended by 21 participants.

- An e-mail group was formed and five national coordinators were
  appointed.

  Korea: Soo Yoen Lee (leesy@kwangwoon.ac.kr), Kwangwoon U.
  Japan: Shigeki Goto (goto@goto.info.waseda.ac.jp), Waseda U.
  Australia: Robin Stanton (robin.stanton@anu.edu.au), ACSys
  Singapore: Lee Bu Sung (eblee@ntu.edu.sg), SingAREN
  Malaysia: Ahmad Affandi (affandi@mardi.my), MARDI/AgroLink
  
- Discussion was made on (1) what to do in the next Osaka meeting, 
  and (2) whether and how to form a DL working group within the APAN's 
  Application Area.


Decisions made were:

(1) Production DLs of member countries need to be tried out thru the 
    AP Net in an effort to demonstrate their serviceability for video
    information. There may be a DL session in the Osaka meeting.
    The national coordinators of member countries need to report (to 
    library@apan.net) a list of local production DLs and introduce
    them to library@apan.net as new members, and prepare some of them 
    to be tried out in the Osaka meeting. (We will require scheduling
    for this. Dear national coordinators, please post your msgs on
    this!)
         
(2) A DLWG needs to be formed ASAP before the Osaka meeting by inviting
    a chair person (from Japan) so that the chair can coordinate the 
    session. Prof. Goto shall take care of this task.


* For Osaka meeting, it might be worth trying prototype DLs as well 
   as production DLs. --> need more considerations.


* Introducing a new member, please notify
   Ms.Seo(ejseo@cosmos.kaist.ac.kr) and/or me (shyun@icu.ac.kr) of his
   or her e-mail address, full name, Mr/Ms/Dr/Prof, and affiliations.
