| Objectives | Our goal is to establish a medical network with high-quality moving image on a broadband Internet in all Asia-Pacific regions. In order to expand our WG, it is essential for both medical and engineering people to get together on site and discuss our next strategy. At the same time, we will demonstrate our new and developing systems to our members. |

| We will invite medical doctors or local network engineers as speakers from various countries of Asia-Pacific regions. The regions may include Fukuoka, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Hanoi, Ho Chi Min, New Delhi, Mumbai, Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland, etc. In addition, we will make sessions of live demonstration of advanced medical procedures or video teleconferences, connecting multiple stations in AP, US and Europe. | Remark | We will have a couple of live demonstrations among multiple stations. We would like to have enough time for preparation or rehearsals at the same room, such as the night before or a few days before the event. Abstract: Malaysian Research & Education Network started in year 2005. Since then, the network and its members experience growth in term of its members and bandwidth requirements. This presentation will provide some information on soon to be tendered MYREN2 infrastructure as well as its future plans.
Bio: A/Prof. Bu-Sung Lee received his B.Sc. (Hons) and PhD from the Electrical and Electronics Department, Loughborough University of Technology, UK in 1982 and 1987 respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Nanyang Technological University and Associate Chair (Research), School of Computer Engineering. He is the invited lecturer to Osaka University, under the Pacific Rim International UniverSity program in 2005 to 2009.

Overview of Telehealth Status in South Asia
Bio: Dr. Nakashima has been a diabetes specialist for 18 years. He was working at University of California, San Diego as a post doctoral fellow from 1996 to 1999. He has conducted disease management for diabetes mellitus in Japan for 5 years. Especially he is interested in standardization of medical information and medical procedure of life style diseases. He is also promoting a project of the broad band telemedicine network in Asia Pacific area.
He is a councillor member of Japanese Society of Diabetes Mellitus and a director of general affairs of Japanese Association of Medical Informatics.

Bio: Professor Yogesan is a world leading medical informatics specialist. He is the director of the Centre for e-Health based at the Lions Eye Institute and a Professor at the Centre of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Western Australia. Professor Yogesan is also a Senior Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council in Australia and the President of the Australian Telehealth Society.
