1. Roll Call- Jacqueline, Dae Young Kim, Julie Watson, Nevil, Kitamura, George McLaughlin, Shigeki Goto, Li-Chi, Pujan, Andrew Howard


2. Review of 25th Program

Thanks to Kitamura-san for liaising between the committees.

Difficult condensing meeting

269 total participation.

Many registrations were cancelled due to higher hotel room price.

Astronomy BoF was not advertised on the program and was not allocated a room. More people would have attended if it was more prominent on the agenda.

 

DY Kim suggested that we could have two tracks: working groups and a more general interest session in New Zealand

Note to Program committee for an analysis of this meeting upon conclusion.

3. Brief introduction to the 26th APAN Meeting Program
(a) Sustainable networking theme. (Environmental, Regional, Operational)

(b) Logistics

Venue is within walking distance.

8 rooms available for session streams

1 room for secretariat office

Public Laptop bar.

Bandwidth will be 1 Gbps to the hotel.

Plenary room will seat around 200.

          Video Conference facility will be provided

          Reception and one dinner are planned.

Hotel prices US$140-180.

Other accommodation options will be listed on the website. 

Accommodation includes breakfast.

Main airport is Auckland and attendees would have to go by bus to Queenstown

(c) Andrew - Document on power standards and conversion.

(d) Jacqueline and Julie will organize timing for the future program committee VC meetings

(e) Kitamura will contact APNG to determine requirement.


4. Review of proposals submitted
(a) Revised final submission date 15-Feb-2008.

(b) Council meeting will occur before general assembly (on Thursday).

(c) One possible plenary on Wednesday

(d) Closing plenary Friday (before general assembly)

 

5. Updating Program Committee Members

Pujan will solicit program committee to determine who will be continuing.


6. Other business

 

Li-Chi (TW) would like to combine APAN with HPC Asia 2008.

Joint plenary on Wednesday maybe a joint opening plenary.

George McLaughlin wondered about the advantage of co location.
