Unfortunately, Gopi from USM is attending the meeting across the
video conferencing and projector does not work well with the
laptop, his presentation is postponed to the next APAN meeting
in Summer.

Yuji Sekiya from Keio Univ. presented the new features of DNS,
including IPv6 related functions and DNSSEC. He introduced the
functionality of A6 to ease the IPv6 enterprise renumbering as well
as how DNSSEC secures the DNS. However, there are many issues
toward the real deployment of those features. 

Kazu Yamamoto briefly presented the recent progress of MIP6 -- Mobile
IPv6 -- in Japan as well as its brief introduction. It has been
adopted by Nokia Celluar phone.  Ericsson's implementation is
available as a part of KAME snapshots for *BSD and Nokia's
implementation is available from Helsinki University and Nokia. Other
implementations are/will be available. The key of Mobile IPv6 is
IPsec and its interoperability still have problems among several
implementations.

Gopi presented current IPv6 status in Malaysia. A few universities are
connected to IPv6 network via APAN IPv6 link or via AI3 satellite
infrastructure. IPv6 group is submitting to TEMAN to establish a
nation wide IPv6 testbed using its ATM infrastructure.

Kato presented brief update of Japanese IPv6 activities including
NSPIXP-6.
