Description:
This session plans to
bring together three major players from our sector in the VoIP
area and provide an update on their respective current
activities. We will attempt to suggest a number of initiatives

2. International H.323 Root Gatekeepers Project
Abstract:
The ViDe.Net international H.323 root Gatekeeper project
provides at least one "root" gatekeeper in each of the three
world time zones, Asia, America's and Europe, and provides the
same service as the DNS root name servers, only for
international telephone numbers. The project is a stop gap
measure until ENUM, or equivalent, can provide a routing
mechanism for international Video and Voice over IP. This talk
describes the project, the dial plan supported, and how counties
can connect to it.
3. Video over IP as an VoIP extension
Abstract: To enable successful delivery of video over IP,
we need to solve lots of challenges coming from best-effort
nature of the Internet. In this talk, we will quickly browse
through so called network-adaptive delivery idea and related
network support issues. Then, we will touch "video over IP" as
an extension of VoIP, where we discuss the latest trends of VoIP.
Finally we will briefly project the future of VoIP - toward
interactive and advanced collaboration environment.
